Leafcutter ants look cool on nature programs, but they're much less cool when they're devouring your plants.
Nests of up to 2 million ants cut leaf material to grow an underground fungus that feeds the colony.
If left alone, they can decimate a crop overnight. Ant traps and repellants won't last long. The first ants to arrive will stick to the trap, and then the rest of the colony will walk on their backs on their way up the plant.
Protecting your plants may be futile. Attack the nest instead.
