Did you know that the part of the cannabis flower that is commonly referred to as the calyx (i.e. calyx-to-leaf ratio)is actually a bract?
Don't believe me?
According to cannabis legend Mel Frank, in this facinating article in Cananbis Business Times (https://www.cannabisbusinesstimes.com/article/the-nomenclature-of-female-flowers), "What are incorrectly called calyxes or false calyxes are correctly identified as bracts. Female cannabis flowers do have calyx cells, but not a defined calyx."
Calling it a calyx is incorrect.
So the next time you emabark on a discussion about calyx-to-leaf ratios replace that term with bract-to-leaf ratio and you'll be the smartest person in the room.
